Probably a cattle-trail or pedestrian path up to 1835 but we had to wait until circa 1900 for any worth-while development to take place.
The second arm of the V extended along the Kiskeam Road as far as the Co-Op, the first major development on this road in 1901. There were only five dwelling houses on this road within the old parameters of village namely:-
1 Cronin's - O'Hanlon 1933.
2 McCarthy's 1929.
3 Daly's 1926.
4 Scannell - Kelleher - O'Hanlon 1903. Hannah Scannell Kelleher was borne here in 1904 which makes her the first child to be born on this road.
5 Danny Daly at the beginning of the 20th century. A big family reared here. Teacher Nelly Daly Casey 1908 was a lifetime friend of Hannah Kelleher.
Danny Daly (junior) remained in the old home and reared three children. The rest of the family joined the church.
Danny Daly's house is now part of the Co-Op and only the names McCarthy and Daly survive.
Like the Knocknagree Road, massive development has taken place on this road and it is now the commercial centre of Boherbue.
Kelleher's Garage, Haulage business and
Coach Tours were big business along the Kiskeam Road for many years. All have now been replaced by O'Hanlon Tyres in the same premises.
The Co-Op complex has expanded very much with Shops, hardware,Super-Valu and Farm Supplies.
I.R.D. Duhallow has leased a building that provides meals (on wheels) for a wide area. Meals are also provided by Ann Scannell in her restaurant in Super-Valu.
Ingredients Solutions (cheese processing) is a thriving industry and like all other commercial services in the West End area gives great employment.
West of Super-Valu are three dwellings Joan Breen, Jeremiah Breen, Reps of Donie Murphy (Unoccupied), Joan Walsh and Alan Lynch.
Jeremiah and Con Breen are in the construction business. Alan Lynch is in the construction business also. The cemetery was opened in 1976.
