I am glad and happy to have reached the end of my story about Boherbue Village. It is the story that I know best – the Boherbue I know and knew and the Boherbue that I have heard about from my ancestors. Now, having written it, I am delighted that future generations will have information about their home-land, information that may never have come to light unless recorded.
I have lived all my life in Boherbue village, from childhood to old age, as a teacher for most of my life and now in my twilight years. Reading through the book saddens me when I recall all the incidents and the characters that are the core of my story, many of whom are gone long since. I still think of them especially at night “when fond memory brings the light of other days around me.”
I will repeat what I said about Boherbue in Chapter 1.
The village of Boherbue is a thriving little rural hamlet, neat and well kept.It has well stocked stores, hospitable hostelries, a reputable restaurant and all the other amenities essential to modern living, two doctors in residence, two schools – primary and comprehensive, a chemist and post office.
The pleasant, pastoral atmosphere of the place makes it very conducive to family life. We have come a long way from that dot on a cattle trail.
Ta súil agam go mbainfidh na léitheóiri taitneamh agus tairbhe as an leabhar seo.
